Gina Pomponio joined the athletic department staff in January of 2007 as the Coordinator of the Annual Fund and Special Events. In this capacity, she is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Annual Fund, the communication efforts of the Panther Club, as well as, the planning, coordination and implementation of their special events.

Prior to joining the Panthers, Pomponio worked in the Communication and Marketing department at FSN Pittsburgh. She promoted and marketed signature shows, specials and talent, maintained community relations and planned special events for the regional sports network. Additionally, Pomponio served as Media Relations Seasonal Assistant for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pomponio returns to the University of Pittsburgh after serving as an Athletic Media Relations intern while an undergraduate. She graduated cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006, earning her bachelor's degree in communications.
