Pittsburgh Traditions
The University of Pittsburgh prides itself on the spirit and traditions shared by students, alumni, faculty, staff and supporters. In an effort to enhance the University's reputation and positively promote the University's image, the University of Pittsburgh developed a Trademark Licensing Program to protect University identity marks. In 1992, the University of Pittsburgh contracted with The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), the nation's leading collegiate licensing and marketing representative, to contribute to the University's efforts in trademark management. Through cooperative relationships with officially licensed manufacturers and retailers, the University of Pittsburgh and CLC have developed a stronger market for Panthers merchandise
