PITT-TOLEDO POST-GAME NOTES

 

*Sam Young (17 points/12 rebounds) and DeJuan Blair (11 points/11 rebounds) both registered double-doubles. The last time Pitt had two players register double-doubles in the same game was on March 9, 2006 vs. West Virginia when Aaron Gray (19/15) and Sam Young (14/11) both finished with double-doubles.

 

*Young finished the game with his fifth career double-double and third of the season. He has reached double figure scoring in all seven games this year and in 15 of his last 17 games.

 

*Tyrell Biggs made his first career start today. He set career-highs for total rebounds (11), defensive rebounds (six) and offensive rebounds (five).

 

*Levance Fields tied a career-high with nine assists.

 

*Pitt had three players surpass the 10-plus rebound mark today: Young (12), Biggs (11) and Blair (11).

*Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon improved to an undefeated 25-0 in games played in November. Combining his November and December records, Dixon owns a 54-2 record in pre-January contests and is now 56-3 vs. non-conference competition. Additionally, Dixon improved to 112-30 all-time as Pitt's head coach.

 

*Pitt also won the 31st of its last 33 games against non-conference opponents.

 

*Pitt improves to 87-8 all-time in the Petersen Events Center. Head Coach Jamie Dixon now owns a 71-8 home record in his fifth season at the helm.

*Pitt improved to 3-1 all-time vs. Toledo. It also improved to 31-26 all-time vs. Mid-American Conference opponents.

 

*Pitt held Toledo to 52 points on the evening. This season, Pitt has held all seven of its opponents under 70 points. Since Jamie Dixon became head coach, Pitt has held 119 of its 142 opponents under 70 points. Last year Pitt limited 31 of its 37 opponents under 70 points.
