2007 Scouting Report: Returning starter at defensive tackle...if Mustakas' offseason is any indication, the upcoming campaign should be his finest to date...performed exceptionally during the spring and was named the defensive recipient of the Ed Conway Award, annually presented to the team's most improved players...has displayed the potential to be a strong pass rusher...good speed and athleticism for an interior player...also is a standout in the classroom who was named to the Big East All-Academic Football Team. 2006: Moved to defensive tackle after playing end in '05...started all 12 games and collected 24 tackles...also had to his credit a nine-yard INT for a score (vs. Toledo), a forced fumble and fumble recovery...broke open the game vs. Toledo by picking off a screen pass and returning it for a TD to put Pitt up 14-0...it was the first TD by a defensive lineman for Pitt since 1999...had a career-high four tackles vs. West Virginia...included in his tackle total was a two-yard TFL...had two stops, forced a fumble and recovered it vs. The Citadel...had two tackles, a QB hurry and a TFL assist vs. Virginia. 2005: Played in all 11 games as a reserve defensive end...second on the team with three sacks...recorded a sack in three consecutive games (Cincinnati, South Florida and Syracuse)...had seven tackles on the year and three pass breakups...had a season-high two tackles against both South Florida and West Virginia.
