PITTSBURGH--University of Pittsburgh junior punter Dave Brytus has been selected the Big East Conference's Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Panthers' 27-3 victory over Eastern Michigan this past Saturday.

Brytus (McDonald, Pa./West Allegheny) averaged a robust 45.4 yards on five punts in Pitt's season opener. He had a long of 56 yards and dropped one punt inside the 20-yard line.

As a freshman in 2004, Brytus was selected the Sun Bowl's Most Valuable Special Teams Player when he averaged 48.9 yards on eight punts against Arizona State.
