Coach Clinton Bell enters his first season with the University of Pittsburgh Track and Field teams, assuming the responsibilities of distance and cross country.

Bell comes to Pitt after coaching at the Seton Hall University for seven seasons where he was an assistant cross country and track and field coach. He was also in charge of day-to-day activities such as the budget and meet management, athlete evaluation and supervision of the team. Bell also assisted in organizing and training student-athletes for successful competition and knowledge of the NCAA rule and regulations.

While at Seton Hall Bell recruited and signed 17 athletic award winners, two of which were High School National champions, one was a Junior College National champion and seven won state championships. Of those athletes, two have earned Big East and IC4A titles and one ran the fastest time in the nation for the 500 meters. Coach Bell also coached an Irish Olympic trial finalist in the 1500 meters.

Bell graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.A. in Communications. As a student-athlete, he earned NCAA All-American status, won a Big East Championship and an Athletic Award for the Pirates Track and Field team. He has totaled 17 years of competitive experience in track and field. In addition to his accomplishments at Seton Hall, Bell has been honored as a High School All-American, an American record holder (1994) and a USA Olympic Trial Qualifier.
